OUR HISTORY 

Founded in 1909 by Mabel Baker, Colonial Candle of Cape Cod® was the first woman to own a candle company with wide distribution. The brand was inspired by its location in Hyannis, Massachusetts, which was the second oldest colony in the country.

Baker started by making hand crafted bayberry taper candles as gifts for her friends and family. Her bayberry candles were in such high demand that Baker began selling them in stores on Cape Cod and quickly expanded nationwide. 

Colonial Candle® classic wax and home fragrance products continue to be proudly made in the USA. The candle that started it all, the bayberry taper, is still available, more than a century after its inception.
